Game Rangers International Logo Game Rangers International is a non-profit organisation established in Zambia in 2008. GRI works in close partnership with the Department of National Parks and Wildlife to empower Rangers and Local Communities to conserve nature. Embracing a holistic approach to conservation they empower Rangers across three core thematic areas: Resource Protection, Community Outreach, and Wildlife Rescue.

Game Rangers International has used funds provided by the Elephant Charge to support the Muzovu Education Project and the Community Outreach and Education Project; buildling the capacity of local teachers and delivering environmental education to 75 schools around Kafue NP, Ndola and Lusaka, reaching 3,000 children a week by 2016.

Game Rangers International has been provided 13 grants by the Elephant Charge totalling $134,960.

  • $13,080 - Fuchs Elephant Charge 2023 - GRI uses these funds over a range of projects: broadcast HWC early warning alerts on community radio, equip 50 livestock farmers to fortify goat houses, empower 5 farming cooperatovies with chilli nursery start up kids, initiate an ITT Lakeshore clean up project, monthly radio awareness programs, increase conservation awareness amongst primary school children, provide 5 school groups with an immersive Discovery Day, improve market access for 3 Women’s Groups, Equip Limbikila Women’s Group with a Poultry Farming Starter kit
  • $18,387 - Fuchs Elephant Charge 2022 - Engage with Community through radio programs on nature & HWC, Educate through weekly conservation clubs at schools in GMA, and build capacity of teachers to deliver environmental education, Empower by providing life skills training to vulnerable women in GMA
  • $19,091 - Fuchs Elephant Charge 2021 - To support Education (1000 activity books, 50 teacher guides), Empowerment (womens groups manuals & training), Engagement (Human-Wildlife Conflict awareness materials, radio campaign, material for mitigation projects eg kraals)
