Birdwatch Zambia provides a home for those interested in learning about and protecting Zambia’s bird life.

Birdwatch Zambia has used funds provided by the Elephant Charge to support the production of educational material on the importance and conservation of birdlife for teachers and children distributed to schools across the county.

Birdwatch Zambia has been provided 8 grants by the Elephant Charge totalling $104,685.

• $18,387 - Fuchs Elephant Charge 2022 - Working with the schools situated in Zambia’s KBAs/IBAs to distribute newsletters, engage conservation clubs in activities, developing resources to assist with bird identification and monitoring, train Community Bird Guides, conduct bird counts with communities
• $19,091 - Fuchs Elephant Charge 2021 - To strengthen education of the birdlife of Zambia through support of school nature clubs, newsletters for schools, habitat protection and enhancement, education talks at 30 schools, school competitions.
• $13,150 - Fuchs Elephant Charge 2020 - Support Conservation Education officer costs to work with schools and communities in IBAs.
• $10,243 - Fuchs Elephant Charge 2019 - Support Conservation Education officer costs to work with schools and communities in IBAs.
• $12,967 - Fuchs Elephant Charge 2018 - Support Conservation Education officer costs to work with schools and communities in IBAs.
• $6,590 - Fuchs Elephant Charge 2017 - Support Conservation Education officer costs to work with schools and communities in IBAs.
• $11,177 - Elephant Charge 2013 - Scaling up Environmental Education in IBAs namely Kafue Flats National Park (Blue Lagoon and Lochnivar), Lower Zambezi, Chisamba, Lukanga and Mutulanganga.
